Why One-Month Old Baby Photos are Becoming so Popular | Vancouver Photographer

Newborn photos are taken within the 2-week newborn range, but we’ve been noticing a trend this year with baby photography. More clients are requesting sessions for their newborns at 1-month, 2-months, 3-months and beyond. Why? Typical newborn photos are of your tiny, sleepy baby in those cute curled up poses which are so incredibly special because they’ll truly never be that tiny again. Baby photos after the 1st month means you will have a baby that is able to stay awake longer, with the opportunity to capture that emerging personality. Wide-eyed expressions, smiles and giggles, grumpy faces and connection with the camera offer a different perspective of infancy. 1-month milestone photos in particular have become increasingly popular. Although we aren’t able to capture all those tiny newborn poses at 1-month-old, we are able to capture a mixture of awake and asleep photos while baby is still tiny. All that being said, newborn’s change so quicky week-to-week and are constantly developing and growing, each stage is beautiful and there are always heartfelt and unique moments to capture.

Not all families have an easy time postpartum, sometimes infancy can be extremely challenging and you may not feel mentally or physically prepared for a photoshoot. While our full-service photography aims to make the experience as relaxed and seamless as possible for you with our mobile studio and inclusions of hair & makeup, and client closet, there are times when even these services paired with being at home with your creature comforts are not enough. So, what can you do? Opting for a session at 1-month or beyond can offer you some time to rest, recover, and feel more like yourself. Becoming a parent is a huge transition and newborn life is tough, but it’s also an incredibly short, fleeting and special time that through all the haze of those sleepless nights we know you’ll want to remember.
